Nayantara is one of the most famous Tamil actresses who gave stunning performances in a number of Tamil films. Nayantara first hit the limelight when she was chosen as the 1st runner up in a Kerala's 2003 Best Model contest conducted by Thrissur Advertising Club. But it was Satyan Anthikkad, renowned Malayalam filmmaker, who discovered Nayantara while she was at Marthoma College in Thiruvalla doing her English Literature.
That was the beginning of her film career. She made her debut in Satyan Anthikkad's 'Manassinakkare' starring opposite Jayaram. The movie became a big hit. Nayantara's journey into Tamil films began in 2005 with three blockbuster hits to her credit that year. She first appeared in 'Ayya' with Sarath Kumar and then came her the biggest blockbuster hit of the year 'Rajini-starrer 'Chandramukhi' followed by 'Ghajini' starring Surya Sivakumar.
Her magnetic performances in these blockbusters have catapulted her to super stardom in Tamil films.
Continuing her streak of success in Tamil films, she went on to give sparkling performances in films like 'Vallavan' starring Silambarasan, 'Kalvanin Kadhali' starring S J Suryah and 'Thalaimagan', 'Yaaradi Nee Mohini', 'Villu', 'Aadhavan' and several other films.
